Have you used Autodesk Screencast yet? This is a great, free to use tool for recording what’s going on on your computer screen. You can capture any screen, with or without audio, for the purposes of sharing your knowledge or ideas with others. I’m just getting started myself, and all of the videos I’ve shared to date are silent films. Some of them I’ve converted and embedded into posts here, you may have seen some of them.
Creating screen capture videos is great for tutorials, or for demonstrating a problem you are having so that you can get help. These Screencast videos can now be embedded directly into Autodesk Discussion Forum posts. It’s also helpful for describing or demonstrating issues on the Idea Stations. You can add a link to them into any social media posts, or download the video and attach it as a file to an email, or even to a support ticket.
You can establish your own Screencast profile, and decide which videos you want to share with the public. Very similar to having your own YouTube channel. By the way, here is my Screencast, and my YouTube. I’m not much of a movie maker, but I plan to start making talkies soon. I’ve got a fancy new headset and everything, now I just need the time!
So, have a look at Screencast, play with it, and you’ll be on your way in no time… producing quality videos to share what you know and impress your friends!
