Search the Idea Stations in Autodesk Community

Right now there is now way to search for specific ideas, or idea tags, once inside the Autodesk Idea Stations.  That may or may not change in the future, so I thought I would share the current work around.  On any page in the Community there is a “Search the Community” window near the top of the page.  Simply type your search string in there and press enter or the “Search” button.

When the generic search results come up, they will show you everything in the Community that matches your search criteria.  Look to the left, and you will see a number of refinement choices under the heading…. Refine by. (clever!)

Select Location under the refinements, then look for the Product whose ideas you would like to see.  Under the product name will be all of the forums for that product, including the Idea Station… if one has been set up for that product.  Select that and you will now be seeing all of the Ideas that match your search criteria.  Easy peasy?

Here is a quick video demonstration, using Inventor Tube & Pipe as the search.
